Maybe it's possible for us to come up with a social contract under which we collectively pretend that floods like the last one just didn't happen? It feels like a lot of us enjoy each others suffering in a way that is inevitably going to come back around and make our lives uncomfortable at a later date.

I am attempting to construct a new understanding of the universe in the absence of the Factory. I don't know Howie all that well, unfortunately, despite having looked in his mind I dumped all of the information. I've been a bit preoccupied since my time ship isn't feeling well. What's been odd in particular that hasn't been brought on by his recent troubles?

Another warden mentioned that wardens have been doing terrible things, and normally Howie would write at least seven hundred words about such events, and possibly attempt to construct a task force.

Or he would ask us to vote on it.

Instead he just made a comment about the wardens all being useless and... that was it.

I confess I pay him less attention than most, but... not entirely? He has been definitely more strict upon others, but it is naught I have not seen from the highly religious in my time, when they were particularly concerned or perturbed by things.
