Maybe it's possible for us to come up with a social contract under which we collectively pretend that floods like the last one just didn't happen? It feels like a lot of us enjoy each others suffering in a way that is inevitably going to come back around and make our lives uncomfortable at a later date.

Things are generally more remembered when a singular person should blurt out a confession. It's thought about and discussed. When a lot of people go through it, no one is singled out, therefore the details, in other words, the actual confessions, fade more easily.

Alright, I can understand that. More people should follow those directions, in my opinion, but that's not quite the point of the question, so anyway.

He created the universe as a demonstration of His power, and so He could create Earth and man. He could create something in His image, and something that could grow to worship and revere Him for the glory of His creation, and His gift to them in it.

I confess I pay him less attention than most, but... not entirely? He has been definitely more strict upon others, but it is naught I have not seen from the highly religious in my time, when they were particularly concerned or perturbed by things.

Another warden mentioned that wardens have been doing terrible things, and normally Howie would write at least seven hundred words about such events, and possibly attempt to construct a task force.

Or he would ask us to vote on it.

Instead he just made a comment about the wardens all being useless and... that was it.

I don't know why they should. I saw no confessions that made a single person appear to be weaker, even if some found the method of revelation unpleasant.

Not entirely to... show off. God created the world so it might be inhabited, He created the world for humans, part of creation in His own image - He created us so we could worship him, yes, but He also created us with the free will to choose whether to be obedient to that or not. The free will to be corrupted, but also to be saved, to worship and to deny.
