[And Barron rocks up to Prefect's room surprisingly quickly. The atmosphere of the barge at the moment may be getting to him a bit. He knocks at the door.]

[The door opens immediately, and Prefect steps aside to let Barron in.]

[Prefect blurts out, the second the door clicks shut. Like he's afraid that the Admiral'll hear it if he takes any longer.]

[Barron pauses before replying, which surprises even him - he would have given anything for Prefect to suggest this a few months ago.]

Can we? [Another pause.] Like, is it possible? Would you get demoted if we got caught?

[Barron nods quickly. If Prefect wants out, he can rolls with that - especially with these changes.]

But what about Cassel?

If we're going to try and escape from jail, then we might as well take people with us. [He pauses and glances down.] The only thing is, Comrade... The only way I know of getting out... it's not... It's not really perfect?

Just... when people go overboard? Fall into ports? They lose their memories, and they incorporate into the world they land in. It's still you though. The world changes around you, but underneath you're still the same.

That's all I can think of. That we leave messages for ourselves, try and take our journals, and try to make sure we stay together when we land.

[Prefect holds Barron's gaze for a long, ponderous moment, then shakes his head.]
