But you have a point. His motives seem inexplicable even to a habitually wicked being. As did Mr. Brock's.
Perhaps I am too old to merely stir up trouble for its own sake. Or perhaps my intellect is merely above the cut-off point for such behavior. I have seen where this sort of behavior leads in a prison environment: nowhere. It is as self-injuringly pointless as firing off a pistol in a metal-walled room.
Is this mere inexperience with prison life? Is it the--what is the term--"lashing out"? Or does he want pain to distract himself from his trapped circumstances? I cannot tell you; I am no Charlie.

There are better ways to retrieve weaponry than with one's skin. To be honest that would be a safer occupation for me. I heal fast.
Retrieving those weapons is going to be somewhat difficult, in any case. Those who have them will doubtless be mortals seeking to "even the odds" against people like, well, myself.
