I think... Comrade, I believe that in this, you are wrong in every capacity. Countless inmates leave this place and never return, countless leave, only to be reallocated to different wardens. They lose their second chances because we can not always help them. It's Russian Roulette, and you think there is an order to it because you have repeatedly been lucky.

I would never, ever hurt someone for Barron unless it was to protect him from them, because unless I show him a path away from that, I am failing in my responsibility to him. If Iago became a good man, who did not seek vengeance, and demand blood for his blood? Then it's not because of the lesson you taught him then.

I agree that we do what we must for our inmates. Show them that you'll work for them, show them that you'll lay down your life for them if they need it, but I don't think anyone must commit murder to gain their inmate's respect or their trust.
