[A beat] I spent four years on a human starship. Much of that time we spent far from Earth; we had to be able to fix what was damaged, because we infrequently came across people who could replace what we needed.
The crew had to rely on each other's capabilities in order to survive. I don't believe your experiences are all encompassing.
