You could work somewhere else until they allow the greenhouse to be unlocked. Like the library, if you enjoy organization.

It's not just that, Comrade. I didn't want to work in the garden, but now that I am I have a responsibility to fulfill the allotted task to the best of my abilities, and if the garden is locked for too long then all the plants I have been controlling will die. If this happens then the culmination of my work is a basic failure to fulfill my function adequately.

My room is somewhat crowded (incidentally, if you ever need a cutting from a rosebush, then please let me know). Additionally, I can't take the plants to my room if I can not get access to them.
